Chris Wanstrath, PJ Hyett and Tom Preston-Werner developed Github using Ruby on Rails and Erlang. GitHub offers paid professional accounts, as well as free accounts for free software projects. The site also provides access control and collaborative features such as bug tracking, feature requests, task management, and a wiki for each project. GitHub allows developers to store and share, publicly or privately, the code they create. The platform is home to more than 80 million projects, including software, web sites, mobile applications and other computer programs.

The image sharing site created in 2009 has just been revamped. But more than a new design, it now offers its 250 million users a new way of working inspired by social networks. In Imgur content takes precedence over the individual.
Stack Overflow
Created in 2008 as an alternative to the existing question and answer sites. Stack Overflow is a question and answer site. Each member can vote for the questions and answers posted, earning points, called reputation, for their authors. It is also possible to vote against ( downvote) to penalize the author of the answer and indicate to future readers that this answer is not relevant. The purpose of these votes is to highlight quality answers, while rewarding their authors, giving them access to privileges when certain reputation thresholds are reached.

Steam is an online content distribution, rights management and communication platform developed by Valve and available since September 12, 2003. Oriented towards video games, it allows users to purchase games,content for games, update them automatically, manage the multiplayer part of games and offers community tools around games using Steam. Since October 2012, a service is dedicated to software. In February 2015, Steam had more than 125 million users and in March 2017 more than 14,000 games. For the user, Steam comes in the form of software to be downloaded and installed on his computer, on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X or GNU/Linux. These applications allow users to log in to their account, access the online store, communicate with their friends and, of course, launch installed games via Steam.

Each year, GameFAQs organizes a tournament vote to elect the most popular video game character, sometimes with variations on the theme.
4chan
Consisting of an image exchange network called “imageboards”, it is modelled on the models of the popular Japanese sites 2channel and Futaba Channel. At the time of its creation, one of the main objectives of 4chan was to be the support of discussions related to anime, manga, dōjinshi and the whole Japanese culture. However, the many topics addressed by users are currently much broader, due in particular to the diversity of the fields covered by the imageboards present on the site.
